  1. <>Due to the pandemic, the all-round assessment for graduate students from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan will be held online. Details are as follows:

     

    Identity Check

    Time: March 10, 2021 (detail arrangements will be additionally informed)

    Candidates should present the required documents in front of the camera via Zoom. Those who fail to attend or pass the identity check will not be allowed to attend the writing assessment or the interview.

    Writing Assessment

    Time: March 10, 2021 (detail arrangements will be additionally informed)

    The writing assessment will be a take-home essay writing. The subject will be sent separately to candidates via email with further instructions. Candidates should finish the test independently and send it back within the requested time period.

    Interviews

    Time: March 11, 2021

    Individual interviews are to be conducted via Zoom. Each candidate will spend an estimate of 20min with the assessment group which consists of experts from Tsinghua University and University of Washington.  The interview focuses on candidates’ language ability, learning skills, innovation and overall development. Specific interview time and Zoom meeting IDs will be sent to candidates separately.

      Candidates should install the software in advance and test the internet connection with the GIX office during the offered time period.

    2. Candidates need to prepare the following documents for identity check (all in original copies):

    Candidates from Hong Kong or Macau:

    • <> ID card

      Mainland Travel Permit or Residence Permit

    Candidates from Taiwan:

    • valid ID card

    • Mainland Travel Permit or Residence Permit

    In addition, all candidates for master’s degree programs should have the original copy of bachelor’s degree certificate; candidates for doctor’s degree programs should have the original copy of master’s degree certificate. Candidates in their senior year should prepare a proof of enrollment. Candidates with a degree from oversea institutions or from institutions in the Mainland should also prepare an authentication of degrees provided by Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange.

    1. Candidates should read the following two regulations—Tsinghua University 2021 Graduate Students Online Admissions Assessment Regulation and Solution to Behaviors Against the National Exam Regulation—beforehand. On the day of assessment/interview, candidates will be asked to read the Tsinghua University 2021 Graduate Students Online Assessment Discipline in front of the camera which will be recorded and kept record by the department.
